Tomorrow, January 16, NEWS CENTER Maine is hosting their annual Project HEAT Telethon to raise money for the Keep ME Warm fund. Keep ME Warm provides emergency heating assistance statewide.
Funds from the telethon and Keep ME Warm fund are distributed to organizations across Maine. 211 Maine receives a portion of this funding.
When someone contacts 211 Maine looking for heating assistance, our specialists look through the database to see what local resources are available to the person and if they have applied for assistance.
On a limited basis, 211 Maine is able to assist with financial assistance for heat.
If all other options are exhausted, the 211 Specialist will work with the person to identify their preferred heating source vendor and then work with the vendor to schedule a delivery.
