There are three main ways to search the new 211 Maine Online Search Directory:

1. Search by Need
2. Search by Keyword
3. Search by Common Category

Search by Need:

1. Select an area of need from the dropdown menu
2. Select the situation that best describes your need
3. Enter your town or zip code OR click on the magnifying glass and your town will automatically populate
4. Click “Locate Services”
5. This brings you to the Results Page. On this page, you can see what results best match your search.
6. You can also filter results with additional options, including:
   • Accepted forms of payment
   • Accepted insurance
   • Whether those without insurance are accepted
   • And if the program is specific to only veterans and their families
7. Click on a program that may meet your need.

On the program page, you will find a description of the resource, address, phone number, hours, if there is specific eligibility requirements, languages offered, and more.

On the Results Page, you can change your “Area of Need” or “Specific Need” if you do not see a result or if you want to revise your search.

If you want to return to the homepage and search by Keyword, click “Back to Welcome Page.”

Search by Keyword:

1. Select a search term from the dropdown menu OR type in a keyword
2. Enter your town or zip code OR click on the magnifying glass and your town will automatically populate
3. Click “Locate Services”
4. This brings you to the Results Page. On this page, you can see what results best match your search.
5. You can also filter results with additional options, including:
   • Accepted forms of payment
   • Accepted insurance
   • Whether those without insurance are accepted
   • And if the program is specific to only veterans and their families
6. Click on a program that may meet your need.
